| Possibly hand foot mouth (had before) and going around their dorm maybe. Feeling better low or no fever. No headache. But the rash doesn’t blanch— that’s concerning me. Online says meningitis. Tiny dots on both palms right now. |

Go to the hospital, fool! Why are you writing here?
|
| Were they vaccinated? |
Yes |

He said now feet feel weird. Sounding like
HFM if it’s both palms and feet! He’s checking them. He feels ok otherwise. |
| Do you have a nurses line you could call? |

There are a limited number of rashes that sprout on palms and soles. If HFMD is going around, that's probably it. Meningococcal rash would be widespread and tends to be darker or more purplish, and there would be a significant headache. HFMD has reddish spots, and sometimes the center gets a blistered or ulcerated appearance, but they stay fairly small.

There can be enough soreness that it is painful to walk. |

What is wrong with you posting on social media??
He goes to the hospital or school medical clinic as asap and you get parenting classes now. What the hell is wrong with you?!!!!!! Shane on you for being this ignorant!! |
It is HFM but obviously better than meningitis. Didn’t go in but has spots on palms, feet and mouth.
|
| Tell him to ask the health center folks about the magic mouthwash if the mouth sores are bothering him. |
Oh good lord. First of all, no one needs "parenting classes" for "parenting" an adult living away from home. Second of all, it's clearly HFMD. HFRM is going around the dorms? He has a low grade temp and sores on his palms and feet? Gee, I wonder what he could have. You can have it more than once. It's not chicken pox, or measles. |
For someone who has no fever, is feeling better than he used to, and has a classic sign of hand foot mouth disease, which is GOING AROUND at his school? Really? That sounds like "time for the ER" to you? |

My kid’s health center misdiagnosed appendicitis for days. I mad him uber to ER and—yep. He was in surgery that night. It didn’t present as typical one-sided pain, but it was excruciating and orevdbting sleep. He was told it was gas. He was hobbling around …it could have burst. Then they misdiagnosed the wound infection later- another hospital visit.
Any ?—err on side of caution and head to ER |
