what to wear to dinner downtown

I’m a 50-something mom who basically wears atheleisure all the time nowadays since I work remotely. Our weekend evenings are often just going to a movie or casual dinner at someone’s house.
I have dinner plans with old friends (former coworkers who I hung around with a lot in my 20s when I was more fashionable, haha) at Rasika this weekend. I’d appreciate suggestions on what to wear. My jeans feel so “daytime casual” - they are all medium wash, wide or straight legged. |

| Go to Anthropologie and find a cute outfit. I bought wide leg velvet jeans and a semi cropped sweater recently. I wish I knew how to post photos. The jeans are from Maeve. Very comfortable. |

| I don't think DC is fancy. I am 48. I work downtown three days a week. I am sure you have something in your closet you can wear. It is not NYC. |
