A relatively new manager here. Not sure how much managers typically spend on "treating" team members (outside of birthdays or holidays) but I wanted to stock up our office pantry with some snacks. It's a small office, with just 10 people. Everyone's in their late 20s-early 30s and like to snack.
Any popular favorites (brands and where to shop or order from, etc.) would be much appreciated! Thank you! |

I have a good friend who is a manager and He set up a pantry and purchases snacks from Walmart, Costco and or Sam's Club and then sell them at a discounted prices. His pantry pays for itself because while he's selling the items cheaper than they can buy it elsewhere, it's still more than what he pays purchasing in bulk so basically the pantry pays for itself. The profits go right back into purchasing more stuff for the pantry. If there's extra at the end of the year, it pays for a party.
If you're buying a snacks to give for free, you should vary it up. Maybe one day a dozen donuts from Dunkin' Donuts or Krispy Kreme, another day bunch of kind bars or nutra grain bars. Another day fruits, like bananas and apples, another day Cajun spicy nut mix. And on and on and on. |
This is way too much work. OP, just get a bunch of nonperishable snacks. Granola bars, snack sticks (Chomps bars), individually wrapped packs of nuts. Maybe yogurt cups and cheese sticks for the fridge. Little bags of pretzels and chips. Just buy in bulk and re-up as needed. I would not set up an individual snack bar every morning. |
| Why not ask the people who will be eating the snacks? "I am doing a Costco run to stock up the pantry. What do recommend I pick up?" |
| OP here. Thanks for the ideas! I can ask as well, but I wanted to research what's popular and where to get them from. |
| Please buy healthy snacks. Nobody wants Oreos and hight fat chips. Fresh fruit, nuts, yogurt, popcorn, cheese sticks, and sparkling water. |
| I’d keep it simple. Fresh fruit, Kind bars (or similar) and something like popcorn. |
| We have a fruit box delivered each week. I think the reception desk has candy, but only clients (and the receptionist) eat that. |

My managers just occasionally treat us to lunch. Which is nice. I have sometimes been given a small gift card at Christmas. Like $25 at Starbucks or one lady gave a $50 Visa card but she and her husband both have good jobs.
I've had coworkers who have an endless candy bowl. That probably gets expensive. Providing regular snacks will get expensive. If you have a Target near you, they have affordable delivery. I ordered $100 of snacks for a teacher appreciation event. I got KIND bars, Planter's nut mixes, a big box of mixed Frito-Lay chip packages, sparkling water, and pop. Those were from the organizer's wish list. |
This but I will note get the pre-popped and individually bagged kind like skinnypop because there's always some dumbass in a dorm or office getting the fire dept called over microwave popcorn. |
speak for yoself!!! |
| OP again. I really appreciate all the ideas! Thank you, DCUM! |

The Kirkland trail mix packs are the absolute best.
I agree with others not to get Oreos and stuff. My office recently changed the snacks and now has a TON of junk food. I’m not sure who requested all that crap but it looks like they let a 9 year old pick the snacks. Yet another reason to want to work from home where I don’t have to see pringles, Oreos and fruit gummies every time I walk in to refill my coffee or water! |
| I'm sure it's a given, but since you're a relatively new manager: please check for allergies! |
