| My junior is painfully making his way through AP Calculus AB this year. He is getting decent-to-good grades, with major effort. AP Stats is fine for next year, right?? |
| Yes. |
| Yup |
| Yes!! |
| Yes! My unhooked, public school DD took Calc BC as a junior and is taking AP stats as a senior (and has been admitted ED to an ivy+ as a humanities major). |
| Yes, and good job for making it this far. |
| 100% |
Stats is actually a useful subject down the road….calculus isn’t. |
| My humanities kid never bothered with Calculus at all and I'm glad. They were busy with AP classes in all their other subjects and Calculus was totally unnecessary for their college plans. Had no problem at all with college admissions. |

| If they do well on the AP exam, they could earn Calc 1 credit and possibly not need to take math for their degree. Stats should be fine. |

No, if you are interested in T20 BC only builds on AB, so it should not be too difficult. Unfortunately what is useful in life (AP Stats) vs. what is helpful in college applications do not always coincide. Know what you are choosing. |

It's funny that MCPS and other school districts have AP Calc in junior year. In FCPS, AP Calc is typically a senior year course. (Of course there are kids doing Multivariable Calc, etc. and more advanced but...)
All this is to say, they will be compared against their school, but AP Stats senior year should be fine. |
