MBB consulting "coaches" and tutors

Have you heard of this?
People to hire to get your college student up to speed and prepped for interviews, cases, networking, excel, managing the details, the whole nine yards?
Any names you'd recommend?

The kinds of schools MBB hire from will already offer this to students through clubs, career services, workshops, etc.

I am currently signed at MBB. I got all of this for free through a combination of free online resources, my school's career center, upperclassmen, and cold emailing alumni (many of whom took time out of their days to "case" me and give me pep talks in the time leading up to my interviews). You don't need to spend a dime on recruitment.

The short version.

They are also the people who brought us the opioid crisis as a conscious plan to pump big Pharma’s profits

A lot of people get these jobs through family or college connections. Getting inside info from tutors to prep is another way to game the system. This gives some insight into ethical issues with these firms, they hire people lacking ethics to comply with their practices. Probably more contentious ones are cut into early rounds.

However, this isn't any different then people buying coaching, internships and courses with money and connections for business, law and medical school tests and interviews.

Career services at our T20 is a joke. Spending time 1-on-1 is out of the question.

It is, because there is almost zero chance of landing one of these jobs if you aren’t at something of a target school.

And at other schools it isn’t, especially ones with business schools.

OMG don’t do this. If your child can’t manage the interview prep on their own, they will absolutely crash and fail once the actual job starts. This is not speculation, it is 100% what will happen. It will also destroy their self-confidence and the failure could hinder their ability to get on with whatever their plan B is.

They should buy Case in Point and take advantage of the case prep services on campus. If that doesn’t get them over the bar, it’s not meant to be and it’s for the best.
