Would you consider locking the Fairfax County Double Murder thread?

I reported it with this question, but am also posting here.

Would you consider locking the "Fairfax County Double Murder" thread in off-topic now that Brendan Banfield has been found guilty? He won't be sentenced until May and I think the thread will just devolve into really stupid back and forth commentary about junk if you keep it open.

People can start a new thread when things pick up again (whether that is an appeal or a sentencing).
