Private schools for stem DD

Anonymous
DD10 is about to apply for middle school. She is now in a great public school. She plays club field hockey. She has been showing outstanding stem talent. what’s more everything looks very easy for her to learn and pick up. She is calm while not hard to make friends. I would see her doing some stem career in the future.
Given stem is much less competitive in private school, should we let her stay in public?

If you already know STEM is more competitive in public why are you looking at private?

OP here. I have another kid who is already in private school. Sending both to the same school would be easier for me to coordinate everyday.

What evidence do you have that STEM is more competitive in public? Do you mean the magnet programs?

OP, It would be helpful is you said which school your older kid goes to and the younger one would attend. There’s a wide variation amongst private schools and STEM.
