| It's so stupid how we're opening tomorrow when literally everyone else (MCPS, PWCPS, a bunch of the more southern counties like Stafford) is closed. I'm really hoping they pull what Prince William did last week when they realized they were the only district opening. Nothing has changed since Friday. What is a 2 hr delay supposed to do? |
| Oh cmon, I think we’re fine. Maybe we had better plowing. I hope they don’t walk it back, we don’t need to close just because the others did if the conditions were ok enough to announce a delay to begin with. I’m kind of impressed we’re the only ones going for it. |
| Yay!!!! |
| And now APS and FCPS have closed too. Why are we the only ones opening? |
Because nothing will change between tomorrow and Tuesday or Wednesday. Time to rip the bandaid. |
We do not have the dense tight old neighborhoods that they do with tiny streets and street parking. Arguably we’re in a better position to open and anyway we will all be in the same boat Tuesday so Monday isn’t going to make or break anything. Might as well just go. |
Why would one be upset about school opening? |
Especially since absences are excused. |
| Pleasantly surprised. Looks like they realized they can't stay closed until the snow completely melts and it's time to get kids back in school. |
Western Loudoun is still pretty bad |
+1 we can’t stay closed for weeks and asynchronous learning is no substitute. |
But wEsTeRn LoUdOuN… |
So drive to school or stay home. |
Actually they can. Calendar has 15 built in days for inclement weather. Teachers work those days pro bono. Cope harder. There’ll be a closure made in the early morning. Don’t ask how I know. |
| Lcps has given the option on the lcps website that if roads are really bad in their neighborhood their absence will be excused |
