Open SACC money even if schools are closed

I’ll email as well but posting here on the off chance anyone with any authority reads this forum.
It was be asinine to close schools on Monday and also close SACC after SACC was able to open Thursday and Friday. I understand that the policy is that when school closes for weather, SACC closes for weather. But there should be an exception for this very peculiar circumstance where SACC was open Thursday and Friday of last week because FCPS wasn’t officially closed due to the teacher workdays already built into the calendar. Because staff is not there during the day, only in the morning and after school. They can’t just tell workers to be there all day without some advance coordination. |

SACC closes when there’s a snow day. SACC was open Thursday and Friday because they weren’t snow days. |

| How would they do that? SACC employees work like 7am-9am and then again at 3pm. Who is going to watch the kids in the middle of the day if school is closed? Some of the SACC employees are college kids or have other jobs. They can’t just stay because you want them to. I get what you’re saying but you literally put no thought on why they could open Th/Fr for a pre scheduled teacher workday to being open on snow days. |
