| DC admitted to several strong engineering colleges. If cost relatively same (within $5k with known merits) which would give broader employment and opportunities ( aerospace or me) Purdue, VTech, UMD, UIUC, CWRU? |

| What does your DC think as a fit for them specifically? With all things equal, that should come into play. I would lean towards Purdue as the FYE can help them discover which engineering major is the best fit for them. |

CWRU is the smallest by enrollment which maybe attractive to some. It also has thinkbox which looks very interesting.

Employment and opportunities are much more driven by which specific upper-level in-major electives a student took than about which university one attended.
None of those options would be a wrong choice. Key questions: Which program has a higher engineering graduation rate? Which program is best for for DC? Rural, urban, or suburban? Other non-academic fit factors? |

| You cannot go wrong at Purdue or UIUC - both powerhouses. Look at top employers for each on their websites to get a sense of breadth. |

| CWRU would be my last choice here unless your kid wants a smaller school. I would lean Purdue for aero and if you have done even a little but of research you will understand why. That said all fine choices and consider yourself lucky with champaign problems. |

Mine applied to all of those and GT - in everywhere but deferred at GT; he will go to Purdue unless he gets in to GT RD, but maybe even then still Purdue. For aero.
Purdue is name brand for Aero. |

| Congrats! All great options. With this set of choices and money not a variable, I would pick based on which campus they like best, and maybe secondarily which part of country they want to be in long term. All these schools have a national reputation but it’s sort of normal for majority of grads to stay in general region of school, so if wants to be in DMv long term might give an edge to Maryland. |

UIUC or Purdue, among those. For top engineering employment and careers you would want UCB, GT, Ivies with real Engineering, MIT, Stanford. |
