Feline Ultrasound Provider - board certified?

Can anyone recommend a board certified ultrasound provider for a cat in DC that relatively affordable? $700-900 seems like a lot. Eager for any recommendations and thanks in advance.

I’ve had two cats in Montgomery County receive ultrasounds. Both of them cost about $700. They are ridiculously expensive, but I think you’re being quoted sort of the going rate.

Not sure if they do ultrasounds but I trust A Cat Clinic in Boyds MD. We continue to take our cats there even though it’s out of the way. Diagnosed our old cat within 24 hours of being seen after his previous vet made no progress on a diagnosis after multiple visits spanning 3 months.

DP but I would love a recommendation like this a bit closer to DC than Boyds. My cat clearly has something going on, but was just given a clean bill of health by our vet who I've never loved. He's older and he's lost his appetite, is moving slowly, and sometimes does weird (for him) things like sitting in the same place all day but not napping -- just sitting up looking alert all day long. Our vet seems unconcerned and just chalked it up to getting older. Did a physical and didn't find any obvious pain reaction or problems with his teeth, but I know something's going on.

He's old enough that I wouldn't try to subject him to surgery or any intervention with a major recovery, but I'd love to just know what is happening and maybe get him some palliative meds if he's in pain? I feel so frustrated right now.

DP did they do kidney levels on your cat? Older cats are very stoic but loss of appetite is a symptom of kidney issues. There are special diets that can mitigate.

Also, is arthritis possible? Stiff joints?

Thanks for the helpful replies here - and yes they checked kidney levels first - all labs came back normal, so they think an ultrasound is the next step. Glad to hear the price quote was what should be expected. Really appreciate all the guidance. Thank you.

VCA SouthPaws has a board certified radiologist doing scans on outpatient basis. MiVU is a traveling service. Not board certified but Dr. Shang is amazing.
