Tesla ending production of Models S and X

Does this mean you're screwed in a few years when it comes time for needing parts for repairs?

No, they'll be supported. Manufacturers discontinue models all the time, this is nothing new. In this case, Tesla is focusing more on robotics, but it is still going to product comparatively advanced vehicles, just not those two low-volume models. Their production line is being repurposed to support Tesla's planned humanoid robot, Optimus.

Seems like this is a nothingburger

"Tesla’s far more popular models are the 3 and Y, which accounted for 97% of the company’s 1.59 million deliveries last year."

Don’t know what to believe. Seems very weird for such a major automaker to not have a pricy flagship. I wonder if it’s just a ruse to tee up the intro of the next generation S and X?

The S and X obviously aren’t selling because they’re so dated and an old used one looks too similar to a 2026 model year. The S is still a gorgeous car though.

Tesla seems like the kind of company that isn't interested in selling parts for 15 yr old cars.

When are they going to fire their CEO?

Disingenuous publicity stunt to sell old inventory.

They will soon be making a long wheelbase version of the Model Y.

Then the Model X will return but built on the Cybertruck wheelbase.

Unsure about the Model S. Saloon sedans are a hyper low volume dying breed.

Why would they? He makes smart decisions like this and is a visionary for the future. Aren't they paying him like a trillion a year now?

I believe he is selling them to another brand

Tesla is not a car company. Time to retire some of the models.

EVs are the future, not really. So let’s find another way to take the rubes money. Robots are the future, we will sell a million a year.

Just a matter of time before Tesla comes crashing down, just like First Brands came crashing down on the James brothers.

So sell short, and come back later to tell us how you did.

They will not be making parts for old cars, you will depend upon 3rd party manufacturers, and these are pretty low volume compared to mainstream cars.
