| I'm having a hard time coming up with generic gifts for birthday parties. At this age my own daughter has very specific interests. Also don't want to give gifts that parents hate like tattoo pens or nail polish or lots of tiny beads. |
|
Squishmallows, Mad Libs, gift cards to boba and ice cream, and I don't know what these are called, but my niece loved getting this:

Legos- my 3rd grade DD likes the Lego Creator animals and Lego Friends line, a lot for $10-$30
Squishmallows |

My 9 year old is a bit too old for squishmallows or lego friends.
I agree that kids have pretty specific interests at this age. Fun sparkle makeup, bracelets, games, wristlet. |
|
My almost 9 year old still likes legos.
My 16yo DS also likes legos. My 9yo DD’s birthday is coming up. She likes Legos, board games, Pokemon, Nintendo and anything cutesy. |
| Needohs, Legos, craft kits like weaving, knitting, crochet, plushies |
No you are raising a kid who will be pregnant at 14 The rest of us raise intelligent kids. Legos are great for a 9 year old girl. |
The Legos my 9 year old likes are too expensive for party gifts (the 12+ Friends sets and 18+ landmark sets)
In her friend group: craft kids, Squishmallows (either the stuffed animals themselves or the keychains), and gift cards are popular. We tend to do Michaels, Ulta, or Barnes & Noble as a main gift depending on the kid, or a local ice cream or smoothie place as an add-on to a physical item. |
| should say craft kits, not kids! |
I feel so sorry for your child. My 16 year just asked for and received a Squishmallow for her birthday. |

Since you seem to want more mature things, this is what my 13 year old got for her birthday and/or has given friends:
Clothing: T-shirts/sweatshirts/fuzzy socks Room decor: Pillows, twinkle lights, neon signs, etc. Body Skincare (body wash, lotion, body spray -- I think they are over things like face masks, serum, I haven't see any of that this year) Squishmellow/Labubu/Jellycat (small ones) Art things - Japanese pens/markers and nice sketchbooks |
| Why do you want generic gifts? I send the mom a text asking what kind of things Susie likes. |
My 9 yo got 4 Squishmallows for her last birthday party. We can barely see her bed anymore as those pillows have covered it up. |
