Hi Parents,
Just a friendly public service announcement. I ordered two dresses from Meshiki for my DC. When I checked the items out, there was nothing to highlight their return policy, which is you have 14 days and you get store credit only. This seems like a crazy policy that is not highlighted on their website. Getting a refund has been a huge hassle (got a refund via on line chat customer service but when I returned the items, I only got store credit). And forget trying to talk to a real person. This company is legitimate but their return policy (not to mention the quality of their clothes) makes it seem suspect. The company is based in Australia but I suspect it is actually Chinese. Anyway, wanted to to share my experience to prevent somebody else from finding out the hard way! |

The website has this
14 DAY RETURNS on it. The only way you would know about the policy is if you click Return Policy. How many on line retailers have a no return policy (I don't consider store credit/exchange a return). It should say 14 day store credit or exchange policy. |
| Sounds to me like you screwed up and want to blame the company for your mistake. |

Sorry misspelled the name its

Always check return policies!
Even Old Navy and Gap, back when DS was young, had some fine print return language, e.g., all jeans ordered online have to be returned online. I found this out when I tried to return them in the store. Nearly ordered a cute sweater online recently and clicked through their return policy. While it appears to be a small local business in a place we'd vacationed in the south, all returns had to be shipped, at your expense, with insurance and tracking to China. Pass. |

Sounds like you did not read the fine print.
Moms: please take your girls shopping. There are plenty of brick & mortar stores where you can buy nice dresses instead of cheap disposable Chinese dresses. |
Recommendations? |
| Why on earth would you buy from there? |
Go to the mall!! |
If you DD isn't a size 12 or smaller, dress options in the Mall are really limited. Online retailers are the only places we were able to find my busty DD a homecoming dress. JJs House has good refund policy and free returns at Happy Returns sites. https://www.jjshouse.com/help/returns-refund |
We do! My 5’ size XXS DD can find pretty much nothing except oversized hoodies at the mall. Everything else has to be ordered online. |
Thank you for this! A cheap looking dress coming all the way from Australia when probably 10 miles away you can go to the stores, look at the dresses, feel the material and try them on. It just doesn’t make sense. Why? Half the fun is going shopping, trying dresses on to see what you like, make a day of it. If that sounds like a horrible time just look online, stick to local stores or US chain stores where you can order online and easily return. |
Nordstrom has plus sized formal dresses and casual. Most do carry plus size in the bigger stores. If you want to go online pick a reputable one. My daughter orders from Revolve a lot and they are quick. They make it really easy to send back with a return postage inside and you can use the same package for return. Shopbop also has a very good reputation. |
| That’s a standard return policy for formal dress websites, unfortunately. One of the only exceptions is revolve so that’s where we buy from in our house. |
