Infertility Support and Discussion
Anyone over 35 do IVF w/stims and also do an Assisted Hatching transfer? If so, what were your results?
I did unplanned assisted hatching at almost 35; our embryos were slow to develop and I was told it was standard at SG when you go to day 6 to do AH. It was successful.
I was 40+ at SG and it was mandatory. I had pregnancies on 3 cycles (ended in m/c) and BFNs on 4 cycles. Not sure it made that much difference, as the 3 pregnancies were all from hatching blasts.
I had IVF w/o AH at 34 and didn't get pregnant. Next, I had AH at 35 with an FET, got pregnant (plus a late appearing twin), then m/c at 9 weeks. With next fresh cycle (Follistim), also did AH, got pregnant and now have a healthy 15mo DD. Best wishes to you!
Thank you all for your comments. I had never hear of AH before my FS mentioned it the other day. He did say I had slow growing embryos and he wanted to help them out. Since we ended up with a BFN this time, I asked if it was my body and he said he didn't think the problem was me persay or my uterus.
I did IVF w/o AH at 30 and got a BFN. We tried a second fresh cycle a month later w/ AH and truthfully I think that is the only difference in the two cycles. 2nd IVF BFP and twins.
Yes, 36 and it worked.
