If you’ve tried this, please share with me. Does it help you sleep better if you’re not disrupting each other by pulling on bedding?
My understanding is two people share a fitted sheet but have separate blankets. Do you use a flat sheet? |
| No flat sheets. Europeans don't use them. Just a fitted sheet and then individual twin duvets. |
| Another workaround to this problem is, if you are in a queen bed, buy a king comforter or duvet--fits fine with more overhang on the sides. |
We don’t use two twin duvets, but DH and I each have our own blanket and it is better that way
We have two quilts/blankets that go on top of one another when the bed is made and then I pull mine to my side and DH pulls his to his side. The euro style is probably more efficient but I like the look of a single blanket on my bed |
| We’ve used German style individual blankets for decades. It make soooooo much more sense! No top sheet, just a duvet cover you take off and wash. |
We do this, works for us, as spouse likes to wrap himself up tight and I like to sleep with one leg under and one leg out. Our duvet is a king and our bed is a queen |

Every person has their own blanket in a duvet.
I love my HA and Ikea duvets. You can add a top sheet if you don't feel like washing the duvet every week. I'd lose the sheet as I move so much. |
We have a roomy comforter but I still get jarred awake when DH is restless and tugging at blankets even if he doesn't tug them off of me. I'm bolt awake after that. I need this separate system. |

Yes, we do this and it's great! I can toss or turn or tuck in my own duvet without disturbing my husband, who used to grumble (understandably).
Two other bonuses -- twin duvet covers are much easier to change than a queen or king size one, plus I love that we each get to choose a warmer or cooler duvet since he runs warmer than I do. |
This is what we do. |
