| how do you know the ivies care about this? |
Yup. ⛵️ Easy admit to HYPSM. |
| Most kids from our division are off to the service academies. I don’t see ivies. Is this because you know 1 or 2 kids who go into Ivies and are sea cadets? The percentage of sea cadets vs Eagle Scouts at the service academies are also similar so not sure whether sea cadets is helpful. |
| The kids that I know who got into Ivies have multiple hooks and none are Sea Cadets. |
|
Also are those sea cadets doing ROTC at Ivies?
|
Yes. That’s not what any of our kids want to do. |
| FWIW our aerospace engineering kid was in Civil Air Patrol and got his pilot’s license at 17. He flew himself to VT for interviews, which he was told impressed VT admissions. Top student in his class, top gpa, Eagle Scout, 35 ACT. Got in to UVA, VT, Georgia Tech, etc., waitlisted at Princeton, Harvard, Yale and Cornell. So obviously did not green light him into the Ivies. |
By VT you mean Virginia Tech, not Vermont? Having your own pilot’s license at 17 is just a sign your parents are rich. |
| The correct answer is Juilliard pre-college |
CAP will teach some qualified CAP cadets how to fly. It is part of their program. Parental wealth is not relevant to CAP. |
