Online High school AP classes

Anonymous
Does anyone know if it is frowned upon (by colleges etc.) to take a core class, such as English or AP US History online in sophomore or junior year? Does FCPS even distinguish the class on the transcript as online?

My child isn’t in FCPS so I can’t speak to how they do things. My child had to take AP English online because of scheduling conflicts. It was through and approved virtual class provider our district uses and the counselor set everything up. It appears on their transcript like any other class would: simply lists the class as AP English language. But I honestly can’t imagine colleges caring if it was online. The AP exam is the same. Some kids do their entire high school curriculum online or homeschool for high school.
