Question about signing up for Medicare Part A

Fed who is 67 with BCBS fep, and no HSA. Probably retiring in about a year, maybe a little after that, and will sign up for Medicare then but will keep my BCBS as DW is only 56 and on my insurance.

Is there any reason not to sign up for Medicare Part A (this is the hospital insurance part of Medicare, not the regular medical) now? It's free, I see no downside? Am I missing anything?
