The better comparator would be LI vs Bmore given the size and diversity of NY geographically.

This is interesting. Does anyone know if the number of D1 Baltimore players has gone down overall in recent years given the rise in hot spots like Mass, PA and Colorado?

Great info. How long did it take to make this list?

You clowns are comparing the fourth largest state in the US to five counties in Maryland?

If its extended to include MOCO or the "DMV" area you add 2 more to Penns' number. They have two sophomores currently rostered one from SJC and one from AHC and they also graduated 2 last year...

I love this. Upper MD counties have boasted for years on DCUM about how much better their players are compared to the DMV. But when they need DMV players to pad their T20 stats suddenly it’s one big happy state. Clowns

Can’t even count MD as a state, you aren’t getting any lax players from 2/3 of the state counties anyways.

Why does it matter which part of NY players hail from — or how large the NY total pool is — if Baltimore / HoCo is still the same strong market today as it’s always been? A better question to ask is the one posted above: are fewer girls from the Baltimore area playing T20 D1 today than say four or five years ago? I bet the answer to that is ‘yes’ given the sport’s growth and competition from other markets such as Colorado, Philly, Mass, California (and DMV). NY hasn’t seemed to lose much in the way of player market share based on the PP’s analysis above.

The analysis above does not show that.

Also needs to be mentioned that the top 20 changes every year, wasn’t UMASS top 20 last year? Wasn’t Notre Dame the year prior and typically most years.

Also some coaches just don’t recruit certain states. NW rarely takes MD kids.
