The key is to understand that the perps pick stuff that is most likely to offend and make the news. They want to outrage people. They don't actually care about what they write, and I am convinced they've never thought deeply about Jews or Muslims or Palestine.

Not at all. We've discussed this many times on DCUM. The idiots who do this don't hate anyone in particular, they're not right in the head and want shock value. I wouldn't be surprised that the kids who did this also scratched swastikas on desks or whatever they did before. It's an equal-opportunity attention-seeking behavior, and it's vile, because they are endangering previously victimized groups. If they had more Black students at their school, they'd probably leave a noose hanging around. Whatever they can find that's most shocking to their community.
