What is the most recent “crud” presenting like?

Anonymous
I think I’m (painfully) slowly coming down with something. It started yesterday but has only slightly progressed today.

Scratchy throat, like a tickle that needs itching. Dry cough
Slight congestion
Very very lite runny nose (but it’s cold, and my nose likes to run when it’s cold)

Today started a headache and that general apathetic malaise feeling. I don’t exactly feel sick, but I don’t feel normal

No clue what this could be

Sounds like how covid started for me. Wondering if anyone else has recently had covid and how long it took to shake it. Sorry you're not feeling well OP.

I had that for 3 weeks. Never improved or got worse. My kids had fevers and worse coughs

Good friend has the recent variant it's been 4 weeks for covid and counting.

Hospitalized twice. Age 44. Normally very healthy.

Flu is bad as well people I know have been sick for weeks with coughs, breathing problems, etc...

OP here. Thanks! This is what I’m afraid of. It doesn’t feel as abrupt as the Covid variants I’ve had, but it feels similar somehow. Ugh. Hope you’re on the mend by now!

One week of runny nose and congestion;
followed by 3 days of flu symptoms: fever, aches, chills, fatigue, sore throat;
followed by continued fatigue and palpitations;
followed by another week of stuffy nose and blocked ears (still not over).

My daughter had the same fever 2 days after me and tested positive for flu A but negative for Covid, so I assume we all had flu A... plus maybe a cold virus? Or just the flu, but it hit hard?

PP How did she know she needed to be hospitalized? Shortness of breath? Had she had a fall booster? No judgment either way just curious if that was on top of having had a booster. How scary!

Had Covid a few days before Christmas. Mostly cold-like, had a very mild fever on days 3-4 and lost my sense of smell. The “feeling yucky” part of it was over pretty quickly but I still haven’t shaken the cough. My son had it first, and the post-nasal drip/cough combo sticks around for weeks. This one didn’t feel like covid at all, except for the loss of smell on day two.

I quickly noticed the loss of taste and smell too.

Do you have a Covid/flu test kit, OP?

OP, I am now on week 2 of the exact symptoms you describe. DD had Covid last week but I am testing negative. Feeling better than last week but still very fatigued.

OP here. Same! It hasn’t progressed at all for me, but now my DH has the exact same symptoms, so I know it’s something. So far negative, but I’m wondering if it’s simply too mild for the test to pick up or something?

DD has several friends with mono. That was something I hadn't heard of in a while!

Hope everyone feels better soon.

Covid, the flu, the stomach flu (aka norovirus, USE BLEACH TO KILL IT) and measles! There are at least 4 local areas of measles exposure this week alone.
