Are we going to bail out our kids who now seem to think gambling is investment?

Seems to me that Gen Z boys love to gamble. What's the reason behind this? Is it because they are not aas hopeful about the future and are hoping for a quick "fortune"?

dreaming of quick money. simple as that

Tell them point blank that you won’t be bailing them out. Put it in writing if you have to.
Then teach them about accruing debt and interest. This isn’t something every gen z does.

Just point to all the scandals about athletes fixing games. There was a new one today.

Because it is at their fingertips with multiple apps and their algorithm.

We made it legal and accessible. Lots of people want to gamble, but it used to be more difficult.

The legalization of sports betting is a boon to these betting middle-men and a poison to young men. This should not be so simple and the level of advertisements that go on is insane. Why do we insist on this kind of immoral legalization? I put it right up there with cannabis legalization. Devastating to young men.

Because legislating morality is rarely a good idea.

Any other questions?

I'm so concerned what's going to happen with this in the future. I predict a ton ton ton of new barely legal gambling addicts

Neither is smoking.

It's ok for the government to make laws that encourage folks to make good choices. Yes, there's a balance, but I don't think sports betting and cannabis need to be legal.

You, or someone, wrote, "Why do we insist on this kind of immoral legalization?"
So someone thinks gambling is immoral, and should be illegal.

This.

People don't understand that legalized, easy gambling was one of the inevitable results of smart phones and social media. Social media and phones are addictive for the same reasons gambling is addictive, and now you can gamble on your smart phone and talk about it on social media. Perfect.
