Fundraisers At Work

Just don't.

I'm not just talking about GS cookies. Boy Scout popcorn, etc. ANY fundraiser.

A relatively new hire sent out a fundraiser link for his nephew. Like, WTF, at least limit it to your kids if you're going to beg at work.

This guy's fundraiser was something called double good popcorn so I just checked it out. It's popcorn sales where the fundraiser keeps half the cash. It's pretty much a discount Go Fund Me.

Why on Earth would I give cash to my company's accountant's son?

Out of control. Just stop.

My company policy is no fundraising. However most of tolerate the occasional fundraiser for kids.
I’m not sure why you’re bent out of shape over it. Don’t support if you don’t want to.
Unless not supporting has an impact to your job, just ignore it.
My kids have like a dozen different fundraisers every year for various sports and activities. I don’t even even participate in most of them and rarely bring it into work. I only bring it into work if I actually think it’s something my coworkers might be interested in. For instance, last fall, my kids sold candles, and they were the same price if they were bought at the store. I had the sheet at my desk. One person saw it and bought a candle. No one died over it.

Literally no one wants to buy your kid's sh*t.

I just had a coworker asking for GS cookies donation. She does that every year, it's not even for her kids. I bluntly told her no without any explanation. I truly dislike when people do that at work.

I just ignore. I agree it's crass.
