Did you see any improvement in DC during last year?

What improvements were made by new government? If any?

Aesthetic or functional?

Homocides down 32% is the big one because that’s a number that can’t be fudged.

The police are actually working again, so actual perceived crime is WAY down in our downtown building. Astronomically as it had gotten fully out of control. Of course we let this stupidity go on for so long that ICE is now kidnapping people, the restaurants are dying if not gone, and we basically gave up all our rights. STUPID STUPID STUPID

No. Its got worse for me.

Not really. Despite Bowser and Trump's return-to-office mandates, we've lost some good lunch spots. I heard that USDOT can barely keep its cafeteria open, which probably speaks to rising costs (on the cafeteria operations side and on the cost of living side for employees).

I simply cannot wait for my taxes to go up and services go down to pay for this dumbass stadium. /s

+1000 !

Crime went down, despite the DC government. Trump probably gets credit for that.

If we’re going to have draconian policing, I’m at least glad red state taxes are paying for it.

Let’s be honest here about the 32% drop in homicides:

Who are the murder victims in DC? They were and are almost entirely young Black men with limited education, TBH.

They were dying at a rate 32% higher, for YEARS, until trump arrived (and I am no trump fan).

If we are honest: DC’s council and mayor were getting young Black men killed and robbed at much higher rates, while the man in the WH is the one putting a stop to it.

Absolutely not. The homicide rate was already dropping.

House and Senate just passed a disapproval resolution of a DC council law decoupling our taxes from the big beautiful mess of a bill, costing us revenue.

Played games with our budget last year with the billion dollar cut.

Tourism down. National Guard and ICE everywhere.

Building some atrocious eyesore arch.

Absolutely. Not.

This. Why can’t we run the city (and country) without steering so far left we get this backlash?

I feel a lot more comfortable walking around downtown now, especially at night.
