Deli meats/sandwiches at take-out places

When you get a sandwich or wrap at a place like Au Bon Pain are you supposed to request that they heat up the meat put into the sandwich - a la the "no deli meat unless it's heated up" admonition we receive often? It's just so confounding sometimes!

Yes-you should have them nuke it. FYI-I think it would be a rare chance that something bad would happen but why do it and have yourself worrying if you get so much as indigestion..which is often in pregnancy.

i just stay away from turkey and eat chicken instead. the listeria warning is mainly for turkey and other cold cuts that come from the supermarket, not normally freshly sliced from a deli. but then again, i eat a lot of things other pregnant women wouldn't, so, who knows? remember, one of the biggest food disasters of the recent past was the e. coli bacteria in spinach. and no one tells us not to eat raw spinach! but washing all veggies is important anyway.

This really isn't true at all. Fresh sliced from the deli makes no difference (chicken or turkey). I'm not sharing any opinion on the decision to consume these items, but you should be aware that getting it from the deli doesn't make a difference.

that's not what my doctor said, so we can all follow our own doctor's advice.
