January home decor

How are you decorating your home for January? I was thinking about keeping up some greenery from Christmas but then wanted something fresh… but I miss the cozy. Any ideas?

One of the best things I've bought are string lights with mulitple color options so I can use them several times throughout the year. I leave them white in/around the fireplace until February then change them to pink for Valentine's Day. It keeps that cozy, lit vibe through the dark days and evenings of winter.

I love decorating. We do full Halloween displays and put up Christmas on Nov. 1st. But January I use for a reset and deep clean before putting up Birthdays (Late Jan) Valentines day, St Patrick's day and Easter/ Spring.

I enjoy getting rid of the clutter after the holidays - but my kids LOVE having so many themes. If I did January I would prob do blues or basic snow/snowmen stuff.

I am not decorating "for January." Everything in my home is carefully curated and nothing is added outside of Christmas stuff (which was put away a week ago).

I shift from Christmas to a roughly red/white/snowflake-ish theme. But much less stuff than Christmas so it feels a little more spare. Some limited Christmas stuff stays that's only red, or red/white. Blankets that are red and have a winerty theme stay on couch (or replace christmas-y blankets). Red and white pillows are added to couches, chairs (3 red white pillows replacing 6 Christmas theme pillows).

On the mantle (which is all white) I put two pictures of snowflakes on a deep red background.

We continue to use our holly glasses we use at Christmas, and we also use Winter Greetings by Lenox as dinner ware through January into February.

We leave the wreath on the front door which has a theme of pinecones and white berries.

Then, when February hits, some of the red stuff stays but Mostly Valentine stuff gets added.

We're going straight into Valentine's Day.

I want my Christmas tree lights without the tree. Any ideas on ways to hang them to keep that cozy feel?

Decorating for January? LOL tell me you are middle class without telling me.

I prefer clean surfaces so I rip down all the Christmas on Dec 26. If you need light, turn on a lamp.

My January theme is "unChristmas"

+1. If anything, I am ruthlessly decluttering. I will hang a few pieces of art and look to replace a few throw pillows and living room rug, but that had been a multi year process.
