Where do you find out about camps?

Are there any central listings, or is it all just Google and word of mouth? I just want to browse!

(My oldest is now routinely at sleepaway camp for half the summer, so I'm trying to broaden the options for the younger one, since there isn't a logistical need for them to be in the same place.)

I have a middle schooler in NW DC. I have my child define her interests and she or I largely talk to parents of older teens or her friends with older siblings, plus google opportunities in DC or lower Montgomery County. We are flexible in terms of location and format, ie half day or full day, provided DD can take public transportation.

With kids going to so many different schools in our neighborhood, we've received enough recommendations for camps and summer jobs to fill up multiple summers.

Rec center websites

Websites of places they play sports, take music lessons, art, whatever activities they are in

Google only when Im looking for something not addressed above like "marine biology" or whatever random thing my kids say they are interested in!

Ask friends or neighbors who have slightly older kids for recommendations. I have this conversation wtih so many friends, colleagues, neighbors who have kids younger than me and always give reccommendations.

This is the way.

Don't forget to put the recommendations into a spreadsheet/note taking tool of your choice. I refer to it every Spring when I start building out the potential schedules.
