Two issues with this one:
- it is fairly obvious from the text the poster is simply trolling, and - it is off topic for the forum. Please Move it to Politics. |

This isn’t political, it’s a worried parent looking for resources for a student trapped in Minneapolis with ICE now going door to door breaking doors down with weapons drawn.
|
| It’s St Paul that has ICE are going door to door violently, not Minneapolis. |
Maybe not for long https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cpv7knz8e8mo.amp What are all these ICE going to do? Landscaping? |
It is obviously a troll and not a “worried parent.” Re-read the OP’s post. |
They greatly outnumber the actual police there. Those poor law enforcement are going to have their hands full babysitting ICE. Maybe they can clear snow. |
I disagree with your analysis and, therefore, disagree with your suggested remedy. The Trump regime has been specifically targeting college students. I am not sure how anyone would not be aware of this given the number of high-profile cases that have resulted. Second, the suggestion that ICE would be going door-to-door is not a rumor as the OP of that thread suggested, but something that Vice President JD Vance himself said was going to happen. College students likely face somewhat unique challenges if confronted by immigration authorities. For instance, birth certificates and passports may have been left at their homes and not with them at college. In addition, they may be more likely to join protests. We have seen plenty of examples of peaceful, law-abiding protesters being detained. Therefore, I am comfortable with a thread specific to college students. If I believe that it is not being productive, I will lock or remove it. But, so far, the primary disruption in the the thread is coming form those yelling "TROLL" and arguing that the thread does not belong in the forum. |

My college kids carry their passport card on them at all times, and keep passport book in dorm. Then they can prove citizenship on the spot.
|
And you think that's a good thing? That college students have to carry their passport books with them? |
They are called the Twin Cities because they are directly adjacent, and most people,. including Donald Trump and his staff, use the term "Minneapolis" to refer to both, as well as referring to Minnesota in general as target in their war on America. |
PAPERS, PLEASE!!! |
|
My dual citizen kid does not have his passport with him while out and about, there's a risk it would get stolen or lost, which would be a huge hassle. He keeps it in his dorm room.
I generally concur with Jeff. |
That would be a great thing to post in the thread. Better than calling "troll" anyway. |
