Machu Pichu

Does anyone have any good books to recommend before my trip in a couple of months to Machu Picchu? Would love to know more about the Incas told either fiction or nonfiction. Thanks

See what they have at the library before you buy. You can see which title you like best.

I thought I already posted this so apologies if it’s a dupe but —
Before going to Ecuador this year I read the excellent book — An Old Man Who Reads Love Stories. It’s not Peru but it is about the area near Peru and does involve some discussion of 20th century indigenous people. One of the best books I read last year.
I was hoping you’d have more suggestions! Maybe if you just post more generally. You might also enjoy the rest is history podcast about the search for el dorado — again the same region and it’s a wild story about the Spanish conquest. I would love more recommendations along these lines!
I read a lot about the Inca when I was in college but can’t recall the titles and it was all very academic stuff.

Not a book, but I have to say that Cusco exceeded our expectations, and I wish we had another night there on our journey to Machu Picchu. Peruvian food is so good. I had no idea. Also, some people need time to acclimate to the altitude, and that's a nice place to do it.
