Any ballet parents want to chime in?
We auditioned for Houston yesterday and are doing Miami next week - exciting time of year! |
| Oooh good luck! Does your dancer have a top choice? Either one of those would be really good. |
| Trying not to get her heart set on one program - we have a few more coming up and will see how the chips fall. Do you have a dancer? |
Yup, they typically do home studio intensive but hopefully will branch out to some of these programs one day! |
| Mine is auditioning too! Good luck everyone. |
DD is 14 first time away, what are is your dancer auditioning? |
Mine is 16, and is looking for shorter programs so they can take an academic class over the summer. She did a longer intensive last summer and loved it. |
Mine too. Have you found any? |
| Some places have 3 week programs. Off the top of my head I think Ballet West, maybe Joffrey in Chicago, Ballet Austin, probably more. |
Thank you! Yes, plus Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. |
| Stay at your home studio for intensivrs. They have a vested intetest in your kids success. Your outcome will be far far better. Add summer privste lessons and then you really have something workable. |
Skip the travel intensive. |
But isn't it recommended for dancers to learn from a variety of different teachers? Plus even aside from the dance element, doing a summer intensive away from home could be a good learning experience for many teens. |
| Top program intensives are absolutely recommended for teens particularly if they are looking for trainee opportunities later or for college. Need to build up a resume |
This is very outdated information. Do you work for one of these programs? What is your kickback? |
