People we meet on vacation movie

I don’t love Emily Henry and this book was a 3/5 from me, but the movie got good reviews so maybe it’s good. Anyone else watching? On Netflix.

Did not realize this was coming! I will probably watch it on the treadmill and report back. I liked the book ok, the only one of hers I really loved was Book Lovers.

I didn't love this book, though I liked some of her more recent books.

I liked the movie less, though. Poppy is not as likeable as she is in the book. However, if you haven't read the book, it's an enjoyable movie.

One thing that really bothered me is that Poppy gets off a long international flight wearing white dress shorts and a white tank top. C'mon! She is supposed to be a travel writer!! Who does that?

I liked the book and it was an enjoyable movie. The acting was good, which helped. The script didn’t follow the book 💯, but it was a fun romcom to just watch and let go of a stressful week.

I also don't love EH, but I did LIKE Book Lovers. Surprisingly, I LOVED Great Big Beautiful life. But that's it.

This was not my favorite of her books, I don't know why this was the first one they chose to make into a movie!!

I thought the movie was pretty bad. It left out a lot of the context from the book about why the characters were the way they were. Without it, I would imagine it is hard to understand why they don't just get together. I would be very curious to see what someone who did not read the book thought.

I just saw the trailer and Poppy looks so different from how I pictured her, it threw me off. I'll probably get to it as a treadmill or laundry folding movie eventually.

I read the book and saw the movie but had forgotten a lot of the book details. I remember liking Book Lovers more. People We Met on Vacation was fun enough - a good premise but dragged just a little long for a beach read, if I remember correctly.

I would've liked a little more context into their characters, but I thought the movie did a good job of covering the tone. The scenery was fantastic and the location switches I think were good choices. Overall, I liked it as a rom com and would recommend for that genre.

I don’t like this book either so I won’t be watching the movie.
