Looking for something within driving distance to splurge for a big birthday/anniversary for a couple of nights.
I know people have mentioned Salamander. Is that still a thing? Any other ideas? Under 1000/night (midweek is fine). Good food, quiet, nature. |
| Salamander is trash, it has gone seriously down hill. Go to the Omni Homestead instead. |
| What about the Lodge at Woodloch? |
| I would do 4S Baltimore or maybe Pendry. |
+1 We had a lovely weekend in Baltimore at the 4S last spring. |
| Glen Gordon is our go to |
| salamander is nice but has gotten pricey. the nice thing about it is that it's close. |
| The Tides Inn, in Irvington VA |
| Really loved Blue Rock Inn in Rappahannock County. Did dinner one night at the Inn and the next night at 3 Blacksmiths. Hiked old Rag during the day. |
| Dinner at the Inn at Little Washington. Stay there or nearby for less. |
| Waldorf. Dinner at Cracker Barrel one night and Red Lobster the other night. |
Call me |
| Primland is supposed to be lovely. |
We did a weekend at ILW this fall and 2 nights and 1 dinner was more than $5k. Maybe midweek prices in winter are lower? Super nice though! |

Ivy in Baltimore? I haven’t stayed there but it looks nice.
Four Seasons in Philly is nice. Do dinner there or at one of the Stephen Starr restaurants. Go to Longwood gardens on the way there or back. |
