| Can anyone share the profile of their student who applied to SFS and the result? Looking esp. for scores and ECs/narrative, which don’t need to be super specific (don’t give away identity if it’s unique but some idea). Thanks! |
| Prestigious ECs like NSLI-Y and the Senate Page Program are helpful |
| do you have to "know someone" to get NSLI and Senate Page? |

A lot of Internationals.
A lot can speak at least one other language. |
|
My kid didn't apply but I would expect a lot of international students, at least based on the high participation of intl kids in their summer program.
Of course IDK how this would have been changed since Trump cuz this was before Trump. |
| Kid's Father was the World Bank's Representative to the United Nations. That type of thing ~ citizens of the world |
| they like big scores and top rigor -- both my DCs were 4.0 UW with 12 APs, 1580/1570. Good school ECs and some volunteering but no national awards. |
NSLI-Y is competitive and an open application. No connections necessary. I think the deadline for summer is usually in November. Just essays, an interview and a commitnent to language learning. The program is intense, free, and well-respected by colleges. I think it definitely helped strengthen my kid's college application. He got into great schools and so did many from his nsli cohort. |
| They are unusually mature. They are living away from home |
| Bilingual, 1500, rigor, NSLI-Y, a strong EC narrative. |
|
Fluent in 4 languages other than English. 1500. 40 IB. Texas based. This was last year.
Zero aid. Passed. He is in Scotland on a full excellence scholarship. |
| DC studied two foreign look languages, 1520 sat, 5s on 3 ap, good ecs. Any chance? |
| Oops forgot gpa 4.0 uw |
Possibly, but usually more APs and will depend on narrative and recs as well. |
| DC is taking 4 APs this year but won't have scores back yet. Courses have been rigorous for DC's school. Narrative and ECs are good. Assume recs are good. DC took SAT multiple times- will this hurt chances? |
