This is kind of hilarious, but also infuriating. A woman with a GE Cafe range resorted to getting a consumer reporter from Boston's CBS station to help her get a replacement. The over never worked properly, repair people came out multiple times, and she finally asked a reporter to look into it. GE basically said the oven was out of warranty, so case closed. But the oven had issues the whole time.
They were concerned with how the reporter could impact their business in the Boston area, but still wouldn't replace one $3000 oven. Well, now the story is going viral, so it's reaching more than Bostonians. https://www.cbsnews.com/boston/news/ge-appliances-defective-range-iteam/

Glad she has consumer protections in Mass, she should prevail eventually.
GE sucks, as do most corporations in this country. Zero ethics, zero accountability. |
It’s really sad and frankly pathetic. They do not care about customer satisfaction, only money and the ever-looming “shareholder value.” Look. I own shares. I do appreciate the gains. But when it comes at the expense of employees and customers alike - that’s not ideal to me. |
| I wonder if this guy looked at the hours spent refusing to replace the oven versus just sending a replacement. If it's a $2000 oven, spending more than a day or two on this issue means the company lost money already. |
| It sounds likE that model is defective, and they sell it just hoping people won't notice. Many people buy $3000 ovens who aren't serious bakers or cooks at all. This person sounds like a serious baker who noticed the defective product. They couldn't fix it because the design doesn't work properly, look at alll the other complaints on this model. |

GE deserves this negative publicity. Any company not standing behind their products needs to be held responsible. These are the things which must go viral to make these corporations think twice before denying legit claims. |

GE is horrible. They finally replaced our malfunctioning out of the box refrigerator AS REQUIRED BY THE TERMS OF THE SALES CONTRACT after 6 weeks of DH calling. They said "squeaky wheel" works.
Never believe an appliance store promises..they only replace if manufacturer agrees. |

GE Appliances has been owned by the Chinese company "Haier" for some years now.
A while back, GE sold off that business and that brand to reduce the debt burden on the real GE company. My GE appliances in the 1990s and early 2000s (before Haier took over) were reliable. I would NEVER use a GE appliance made now. |
| GE Cafe is horrible. My fridge was 2 years old when I bought the house it was in, and failed after another year. Out of warranty. Garbage. |
| GE appliances are owned by Haier, I think. A Chinese company. So not sure why anyone is surprised. |

I have a GE Profile Washing Machine that failed within 2 years.
The motor and circuit board. Motor was covered for parts with 10 year limited warranty but that is it after 1 year. nothing else. still $650 in labor and parts to fix. Never buy GE anymore. |
| Whirlpool/Maytag/KitchenAid are still made (for the most part) in the USA and owned by the same American company based in Michigan. FYI. |

Over 100k views already on YouTube. They’re kicking themselves for not replacing that over. |
| GE makes cheaper appliances which is why theirs was the only refrigerator that fit my 1980s kitchen. Guess I have to rip out a cabinet next time. Ot put it in the living room. |
