ST Math

Is it common for schools to not change the starting grade level of ST Math for young elementary students who have multiple test scores showing they are multiple years above grade level? We were told ST Math should skip him past material that he knows based on the pretests, but we are finding that is not happening. We watched our child score a 5/5 on the pretest and then immediately be given grade level puzzles on the same material. We were told our school will not move anyone ahead until full time AAP, but that seems like a waste of an entire school year, especially with the amount of time my child is on ST Math in school. Thank you!

Teachers can actually assign any ST Math puzzles they want, from K-8, to any student in their class. It’s different from the “journey” which is not typically changed unless enrolled in AAP full time or advanced math. There is a section students can click on called “just for me” which would show these assignments! Try asking your teacher if they are willing to assign some puzzles from a higher grade level to your kid!

just subscribe to beast academy online and have them do that at home. Otherwise, good luck.

ST Math is waste of time and money.
