| I am almost 44F and on the big side of around 190+ lbs at 5'2.5". I have been on ozempic for more than a year but it is not working and I am not losing weight. I have a few other medical conditions such as Type 2, PCOS, thyroid and ADHD and I don't drink. I have a busy job and also started school recently but whatever I do, eat less or more, I just can't lose weight. I have increased ozempic dose as well but no help. Is it more from other hormonal or medical issues or stress? |
| It could be any or all of the above. Thyroid alone could explain it. But sometimes it's as simple as not eating sufficiently less and exercising. Without lifestyle changes, it won't work. |
| why does it work for some people that take GLPs and drop significant weight in a few months? |
|
Some people respond really well to it, others do not. I was on Wegovy for 10 months and only lost 15 lbs. I went off it for a while then back on and lost nothing.
Ive been on Zepbound for a year now and just 15lbs down. |
They eat significantly less. If you don't do that, it won't work. |
| Are you working with a nutritionist? If not, you really should. |
| I suggest a big breakfast while on GLP1s. They work by making you feel fuller for longer. If you’re eating through many small snacks (common among people dealing with a lot of stress) the way the drug works will be lost on you. |
| What dose are you on? |
| What is your dose? |
|
Op here. My dose was 0.25 mg that got raised to 0.5mg but no help. I am not a big breakfast person and only do coffee. My main job is nursing so stand all day on my feet and it is still not helping when I am active all day.
I also take thyroid medication and it is under control now. should I switch to any other GLP instead of ozempic? My doc says it is the best. |
how much did you lose in total? |
OK but what are you eating the rest of the time? |
The fact you respond to a suggestion that it might help to change your habits (eat a big breakfast) by simply restating your habits is a hint. You can’t just take the meds. You have to actually change what you’re doing. |
that's a baby dose. .25 is the starter dose. I'm on 1mg as a sustaining dose because I don't want to lose weight. At 2mg, I lost a ton. |
| You need 2mg probably. Your dose is way way to low. |
