Can my kid do PE and honors chem during the summer? Will they get credit for both?
It's a big NO. Just one credit allowed on the transcript. The only second credit allowed is personal finance, which is usually taken pass-fail. |
Unless the policy has changed in the last couple of years, FCPS only allows a student to take one course per summer. the only exception is that a student may take the self-directed Econ and Personal Finance course as well as one other course in the same summer.
Check with counselor--FCPS policies are changing. They may do away with summer credits altogether, so now is the time to look for other cool summer opportunities. Also, courses not taken at TJ are indicated as such on the transcript now.
Summer chem doesn't exist anymore anyway.
Thank you
As in no summer school for any students or just for TJ diploma? |
Tj doesn’t offer chem or math as summer options anymore
What summer courses do rising TJ sophomores generally choose? Are there any activities recommended in the summer apart from the summer course?
Health & PE 10, and Econ & Personal Finance in case the kid hasn't already knocked that out.
