Is there a chrome vanity light that won’t rust??

I’ve been trying to keep the rust spots at bay on our chrome light fixture in our small bathroom, but it’s been 11 years and I’m ready to replace it. We run the fan when showering, we crack a window, we’ve tried all the tips.

Is this just because it is made of inferior materials? If I get something made by Kohler or Moen will it still rust?

Also I noticed that the door hinges are rusty - but not think faucet, showerhead or any of the towel bars/hooks.

It’s probably the materials. We have only one windowless bathroom for 5 people (so, lots of showers), and our light fixture looks great at 10+ years. It was about $200 back then, so in the pricier side.

I agree with PP that’s it’s probably materials. Maybe look for fixture that is suitable for wet places (bathrooms) or even outdoors.

I have one from Restoration Hardware (would have been clearance or outlet bc we are poor) and it is fine after 15 years in a very used primary bath. Also one from Signature Hardware which is good, though it is just the powder room.

An off the shelf Lowe’s one in the basement bathroom (rental for 11 years) is rusty.

I have not been happy with cabinet knobs from Restoration Hardware in my kitchen - they always look dirty and smudgy even if cleaned. As do the long rods on pendants in the kitchen - Hudson lighting I think. No rust, just dirty smudgy.
