To put things in context: I am a woman in my thirties (I'd be considered fairly attractive) and was vacationing at an upscale resort overseas during the holiday break. I figured I would treat myself to a massage during my stay, but the only time that was available was with a male masseur. I had never had a massage with a male therapist but agreed.
The therapist was very professional and polite. The massage was proceeding well, until midway through, he start breathing heavily. I could not see anything as I was face down on the table. After a couple of minutes, he excused himself stepped out of the room and came back a few minutes later. He then gently tapped me on the shoulder and asked "Miss, are you comfortable to continue the massage?" . I was perplexed but reluctantly agreed and everything then proceeded as normal. Is this what I think it is, or I am overthinking this situation? Is this typical to female clients with male therapists? I googled this and all the information pertaining to similar situation were with male clients and female therapists. |
| I am a woman who often gets massages from men because I just take whoever is first available. I've never had anything like this happen, if anything they are more careful to keep everything on the straight and narrow. |
| Not normal! But who knows what happened. Maybe he had an upset stomach? Turned on by your body? Either way I’m sorry that happened! |
| Masseur indicates male, no need to call it out. A masseuse is female. But massage therapist is the preferred term. Masseur/masseuse is old fashioned, like stewardess. |
| I don't think you should assume anything here. You don't even know if the dude is straight. I highly doubt he went to jerk off over you--holy ego, Batman. |
| How odd that you think it’s because you’re “attractive“. Perhaps he had a panic attack, a diabetic episode, upset stomach, etc. It’s unlikely he got so hot and bothered He needed to go take care of himself outside the room. |
| Hun, men get aroused or hard all the time they don’t need to go take care of it right away. Heavy breathing does not indicate a Boner! You are the Karen of Karen’s. |
Really ? Who is your favorite actress ? |

Reality tv has led me to believe that plenty of people get massages where it's sort of understood that some clients definitely want to be massaged in special places.
I don't think it's the norm but then again it very well could be and I'm just dumb I've never had a professional massage myself |

Eww, yes I think this was exactly what you thought it was which I find utterly gross ➕ disgusting.
If this occurred in the U.S. I likely would have complained but maybe overseas the rules differ. Glad he didn’t take it any further…….. |
| Agree with 12:32 that he got turned on and stepped out to calm down. |
|
He probably was holding in a big fart.
Eventually he couldn't hold it in any longer. When he came back in, he of course was going to ask to proceed before starting to touch you again. The imaginations and paranoia here are insane. |
| Yeah this didn't happen. |
Actor is a word that applies to both men, women, and people who reject gender binaries. We don't refer to authoresses and architectresses, so yes, actress is outdated. |
You have no proof. A massage therapist steps out of the room for a few minutes, and your mind immediately leaps to masturbation? I'd put you on a blacklist--no massages for you. |
