"Chinese School" style camp/classes for non-Chiense

Anonymous
Are programs like CCACC (Cathay Center) Academy and other Chinese school programs good for non-Chinese tweens/teens? Or are there similar programs at non Chinese schools?

My concern is that the teachers and students might have too much Chinese conversation and cultural expectation for a kid who isn't Chinese.

Our kids (who are half Chinese) only know limited Chinese and had no issue with the classes at CCACC (including the Chinese immersion class). I think it is mostly Chinese kids but there are a few non Chinese so I don’t think it should be an issue. I think all the other classes (math, writing, STEM, arts, sports) are in English.

My South Asian friend has been sending their kid to their camps for a few years now and they like it.

We are looking at this Chinese school for our kids who are not Chinese but love learning the language and are currently in an immersion program.

Sleep-away summer camp wise, WMACS camp (at Notre Dame of Maryland Univ) has been good for my kids who speak limited Chinese - so are the majority/vast majority kids there.

For strictly mandarin learning, I’d recommend kids language Art in McLean. We’re doing the after school program and camps but a friend of ours is in Saturday school there.

My non Chinese child took mandarin at school starting 2nd grade and did sleepaway camp at Concordia for 3 summers. Enjoyed it obviously and improved speaking skills.
Later in HS did STARTalk program through UConn, which was competitive entry but free and included 2 weeks immersion at UConn and got her 4 college credits.

I have chinese kids, but they do not even want to speak or learn chinese. Why and how non chinese kids learn chinese? Parents pushing or kids have passion pr self interests to learn?
