| Has anyone else been pleasantly surprised by the early admission results from NOVA public schools this year? The early results from Arlington County and Fairfax look great. I see a number of admissions to Ivy League schools and other top 20 schools, UVA, etc. Has it always been this way and I am only now noticing? |
| It's always been that way. But now we have Instagram. |
| And, obviously many kids are still waiting to make decisions so undoubtedly there are acceptances that aren't being announced on social media yet (or at all). |
| It’s not new, the public school badgers are just loud |
| Bashers |
The insta decisions pages are not new this year. Are you new to this? |
Some kids will never post. Others take a while |
| Many are hooked. |
|
It’s actually amazing how many kids managed to get into UVA from FCPS schools, considering how impossible it has become.
|
+1 Many of my UVA alum friends have said they would not get not UVA if they were applying today. |
and you know this how? My kid just got a great result, not hooked. |
Because they include a sport or we know them. Same for private school results. |
| ^^and some parents or kids or schools have pics from the ceremonial signing day. And some posted announcements about commitments when they were juniors or this past summer |
| They’re not all hooked. I was also thinking the same that it’s very impressive… we used to live in the McLean pyramid so it’s great to see where the kids are going. Our non DMV public had a great early round too. |
What are you being this on? Instagram? Let’s just say none of that is statistically significant. I can’t believe people have time to look at this as much as they do. I only care about what happens to my kids. |
