I work FT and pay 1k/month for a family of four (two adults, two kids) through my employer (my employer negotiates a group rate but does not subsidize the plan at all for any of us including me, so this is out of my salary).

It is a good plan with excellent dental and network coverage, low deductible.

Family of 4, 2 kids age 1 and age 7. High healthcare utilization. Insurance is through my FT employment and we declined my husband's fed insurance as secondary.

Premium is 325 per paycheck, my organization covers the remainder of the premium (around 70%). We have no OOP costs for in network services until 4k then we are responsible for cost sharing. ER is 150, Urgent is 50, primary 20, specialist 25.

We definitely spend 4-5k OOP easily because we pay OOP for contacts for me (800 per year), glasses for me (400 every 2 years), dental visits for all OOP (1400 for all 4 of us, my DH doesnt go often enough so its normally 1000), co-pays, labs, pharmacy, and other services. My daughter has severe allergies and last year we visited the ER 2x. We will be doing OIT next year so that's 500+ in copays right there going every 2 weeks.

Your employer or somebody else is subsidizing something.

$30k a year premium? Is this from your paycheck? Or combined with employer's portion of the premium?

DH retired, working part-time. DW still working full-time. 54/55
Monthly premium $515/month (11 months). Overall deductible is $0. Out of pocket limit is $4k.

Dental is $27/month.

Fed (lawyer at DOJ). No kids, just DH (67) and DW (55) on the insurance.

BCBS FEP standard; $890 per month out of pocket, with -- I think -- government contribution per month of about $1500 per month.

Looking at this ... it's just crazy. Health care expenses are out of control.

Family of 4, my FT job does not provide health insurance, spouse's job, FT, does. Cost to us is $2600/month, no high deductible, co-pays are $20 for specialists. Covers dental and eye exams, and glasses every 2 years, but only $300 every 2 years toward contact lenses (just spent over $1200 on new lenses for our 2 kids).

Kids are in college/early 20s, so only a few more years spent covering them (26 or when they get jobs that hopefully offer good insurance)

Disregard what I wrote completely. Sorry, dumb. (That includes what employer pays.)

Dh 50, dw 48 and dd 19.

Bcbs through dh's work (manager) and he pays $133 biweekly with a $6000 deductible and out of pocket max deductible of $12k. No co-pays

We receive a wellness credit of $60 biweekly for not smoking, have a bmi below standards or a waistline below some number. We have all this checked every September to qualify for the upcoming year through Quest.

My dd just started working for NYC doe and once her insurance starts she has no premiums with just a low copay and no deductible

DH & myself Kids are grown.

$550 a month for PPO with an HSA.

Yes it is subsidized by his employer hence why it is so low.

We have no copays
It is a high deductible plan most doctors charge us rates for visits that have been negociated by his employer.

It works out to about $900 a month on average total for us ages 63,65.

We will not go on medicare til he stops working.

We also have dental for $30 a month and vision for $18 Vision is worthless honestly.

This is the best deal we have ever had in terms of paying for medical insurance. Honestly it is one of the reasons DH has not retired yet.
