What are the five most important traits for a spouse to have?

Anonymous
I’m curious to know what everyone thinks the most important traits when picking a spouse are. You can’t predict everything in life, but what kinds of things signal that someone will be a good partner?

1) open mindedness. Willing to listen to another point of view

2) humor (the same as mine)

3) cognitive flexibility. The ability to shift plans as needed

4) likes to hug and touch and cuddle outside the bedroom (this may be particular to me)

5). Likes dogs.

I used to think it was kindness or humor or self awareness but after 20 years I think it’s just that you just have to give a f*** about your spouse consistently. It’s harder than it seems.

In no particular order:

1. Loyalty
2. Humility (can say sorry)
3. Attraction (both attracted and attractive to you)
4. Hardworking (either employed or at home)
5. Loving and kind
