| Buying for relatives. Probably $150-200 worth. Amazon? General VISA card? What do your kids like? Any recommendations? |
|
My son likes Walmart or Costco for college town purchases. He likes restaurants like Texas Roadhouse too.
DD is in high school and likes Sephora, Ulta, Amazon. Honestly both like cash best. |
|
Don’t do the VISA gift cards, they are kind of a pain since you have to spend the exact amount. Both highly prefer cash now.
If you must get a GC My son would like Walmart or Amazon, like above. He can get groceries or gas. DD - Amazon (she gives to me to exchange for cash) or Sephora |
| Amazon or Dicks for my kid. She used to like Target but not so much anymore. |
| My 17 yr old DS would love a Chipotle card with a high amount on it! He goes there at least once a week. |
| Amazon as you can use it to buy other gift cards. |
| Visa gift cards are trash |
|
Target or Walmart
Dicks sporting goods Food: chipotle, McDonald’s, Starbucks Spotify or other streaming (Hulu, etc) Uber/uber eats Sephora I’m getting my nephew a gift certificate to his college bookstore. |

I also just went to the ATM for the first time in a year and I’m giving them $100 cash.
If you have Venmo, and you know they do, you can also Venmo them |
100%. My sister always gives these to my kids and I wind up taking them for my kids to use on Amazon stuff, and paying the kids $100 out of my own money to reimburse them just because they can never use them. |
You don't have to spend the exact amount. You can track the spending online. Even when the card gets low it can be used and most stores will accept the remaining amount and you just pay the rest of a purchase with cash or another card. |
| My older teens like Amazon, nicer grocery stores for ice cream, sushi, etc., Starbucks and Chipotle. |
| Grandson (19) requested Amazon, Walmart, Chipotle, and Gym Shack. |
This is weird. How can they never use them? Nearly every place takes VISA. |
|
We Venmo the cousins and wish them a happy new year.
Kids want cash. |
