permanent marker for use on a mug?

I like warmed milk in my coffee. Every morning I heat milk in the microwave in a measuring cup, so that I can pour the exact amount of coffee I like into my coffee mug.

I’d love to use a permanant marker to mark a line inside the mug at the exact point of milk I use, so that I can heat the milk in th mug and save washing the measuring cup.

Will permanent marker stay on a ceramic mug through dishwashings? And not come off from the hot coffee?

Assuming your mug is over safe (make sure to check), look online for how to oven fire after use a sharpie (350 for 30 min) noting some say will need to handwash if use regular sharpie, which is why you’ll see some say to use pebeo markers.
