London police on Tuesday arrested Swedish activist Greta Thunberg at a demonstration in support of pro-Palestinian hunger strikers, Palestinian activist groups said.

“Greta Thunberg was arrested under the Terrorism Act at the Prisoners for Palestine lock-on protest,” Prisoners for Palestine said in a statement.

Is the UK still a free speech country? The only thing she did was hold a sign saying "I oppose Genocide" while sitting on the ground. Is that really a crime?

Anti genocide != pro-Hamas

Any of you who doesn't understand what that means or why is probably far too stupid to be posting on a politics message board.

You didn’t post what really happened. She was with people who were vandalizing a building, and was holding a sign supporting a group that has been designated as a territory group. Monday she was with a group blocking traffic in Piccadilly Circus and harassing tourists and shoppers. She should go home.

A City of London Police spokesperson said: "At around 7am this morning hammers and red paint were used to damage a building on Fenchurch Street.

"A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. They glued themselves nearby and specialist officers are working to release them, and bring them into police custody.

"A little while later, a 22-year-old woman also attended the scene. She has been arrested for displaying an item (in this case a placard) in support of a proscribed organisation (in this case Palestine Action) contrary to Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Thank you for posting the ACTUAL facts - how dishonest of OP to leave all of this out.

Time for Greta Thunberg to go back home and get a job instead of being a professional protestor.

There are plenty of legal British pro-Palestinian groups she can join to protest who don’t vandalize military installations and cause a million dollars worth of damage and whose members don’t break into a defense factory in a prison van, and hit policewomen with a sledgehammer fracturing her back.

“Proscription will enable law enforcement to effectively disrupt Palestine Action,” the government order read, meaning that support for the group is now deemed a criminal offence punishable by up to 14 years in prison.

Palestine Action was proscribed alongside two groups described as “white-supremacist” movements, the Maniacs Murder Cult and the Russian Imperial Movement.

So she could be out of the news until she is in her mid thirties.

+1. People are literally put in jail for posts on social media. They do not have the same free speech protections that we do. Not even close.

Greta Thunberg has been a puppet for her family and has only enriched them. She’s not a real activist.

The UK is a country where it’s legal to say you support a genocide, but the moment you say you’re against it and criticize Israel, you’re seen as a terrorist.

She is mentally disabled and has been used like a puppet by so many.
