I am not sure when my last period was. i am 58. I think I had spotting back in February but if that doesn't count, it's been about 2 years since the last "real" period. A few days ago, started bleeding pretty heavy. Lasted about 2 days and then normal bleeding for a day or so and then tapered off.
I saw gyno since this shouldnt be happening and she told me I can eitehr have an ultrasound or endometrial biopsy. She thinks the ultrasound is sufficient but said it's my call. What would you? |
| ultrasound 10000000% no question |
| IME they start with the u/s but proceed to biopsy if they find nothing. I would ask your doc why she's treating it like either/or. |
| I had an ultrasound and then based on those results ended up having a hysteroscopy. |
+1 |
| Ultrasound first. The endometrial biopsy may not find polyps, etc. Hysteroscopy with biopsies is better after ultrasound. |
| I'm going for an ultrasound and biopsy. |
| Both. My gyno did the biopsy during my appointment, then I went for the ultrasound. Best wishes. |
| I had an ultrasound then a polyp removed. |
I have another thread on this issue. What were your symptoms? |
That is what I did too. |
