Which flight would you choose?

We are taking a Disney cruise out of Port Canaveral, staying at a hotel near the port. Our plan is to Uber from MCO to the hotel, and then t(w)een daughters really want to visit Ron Jon Surf Shop to grab tshirts/hoodies; it’s a 10 minute Uber from our hotel in Port Canaveral. The hotel has a dining option, but if we will be Ubering anyway, we could always Uber somewhere for dinner. (Sadly, car rentals are sold out.)

Based on these factors, which flight would you choose: one that arrives at 12:45 or one that arrives at 2:45?
My main concern with the earlier flight is luggage, since hotel check-in isn’t until 4pm. I know we could leave our bags and go sightseeing, which would give us more time and make things feel less rushed overall.
On the other hand, the 2:45 arrival would get us to Port Canaveral closer to 4pm, so we could check in, drop our bags, and then head out for dinner and hoodies. That seems simpler logistically, but also feels more rushed.

Curious what others would do.

I’d choose the earlier flight.

I always go earlier. More time there. More time to still arrive if the flight is delayed/cancelled.

Always earlier, if flight issues higher odds of making it to your destination by the end of day

You probably will be able to get a room somewhat earlier than 4pm.

I would choose the earlier flight.

I have been to Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach too many times for work. If you are looking for dinner recommendations, Mangia Bevi in Cocoa Beach has great authentic Neopolitan pizza. It is walking distance from Ron Jon. In Canaveral, Thai Thai is good.

Earlier. Less chance of flight issues and more time to pivot if needed. i assume the cruise is the next day?

Thank you so much for the recommendations! Both sound great. I’m making note of them. Thanks again!

I chose the earlier flight. You are all correct that it’s wise to allow extra time for any delays.

This.

Earlier. The hotel probably has a place where you can store your luggage until a room is available.

Earlier, some hotels let you do early check in if the room is available.

Earlier is a no brainer. In the worst case, you’ll drop your bags and do your shopping run.

For another dinner option consider Fish Lips. The food is fine but the draw is that it's right on the inlet and it's fun to watch the ships go out. Last year our cruise was the day after our friends' so we got to wave to them as they left.

Also check to see if there's a rocket launch the night you're there... there are so many these days and it's really cool to see.

And I would take the earlier flight. As my husband likes to say, always make forward progress...
