| I need tips to help my daughter to stay warm. She is skinny with low BMI. We have tried goldfish swim or swim lab, she feels cold the second stepping out of water. Under hot summer in july/August , she needs to weer poncho immediately the second when there is no sunlight (likely cloudy daybreak partly cloudy day). She drives me a bit crazy that her body is shivering, lips turn purplish and face turning pale most of the time she is out of pool all season indoor or outdoor. I am always on standby to wrap and dry her up immediately the second she steps out of pool and take her to shower or dry her up head to toe, and blow dry her hair etc... Are there any post swimming clothing that she could wear from head to toe to stay warm? Should I get her hand warmers that are safe when wet? |

Is she complaining? My kids are always freezing after swim, and then they get warm. NBD.
If she isn’t complaining, this doesn’t need to be fixed. No hand warmers! |
| Hot tea or hot chocolate for after? That was our coaches recommendation for little ones, and we've kept it going. |

How about this on the go towel warmer!

In terms of what to have, I'd strongly recommend a swim parka--they're heavy and they insulate even when they're damp. SwimOutlet often has sales, and child sizes can have good prices. Or you can try to adopt one from an older kid if DD is young enough not to care about the color and style. And fwiw Uggs were originally developed to warm up the wet feet of surfers and others participating in water sports.
In terms of what to do, depending on DD's age, OP, I'd start stepping back and staying out of it. You could get several small microfiber towels so that there is always a dry way to dry off during summer swim (but DD will have to keep them separated as they are used). But if DD is old enough for summer swim, she's old enough to be encouraged to shower, dry, and dress on her own--which in turn will help her come up with her own ways to keep warm too. |
| I have a daughter like this, and the pool (indoor) we use for swimming lessons gets pretty chilly in the winter. We got a hand-me-down wetsuit from a friend and it's made a HUGE difference for how much she enjoys swim lessons! Strongly recommend! |

Hold old is she? When my kids were younger, I noticed many of the 6 year olds had this issue. It got better with time. As a new parent in swim, it is hard to watch.

+1 for the swim parka. My son was on the low end of BMI when he was 8 and under and did the whole purple lip thing when he got out of the water. We had the swim parka and gave him 3-4 towels, 2 to dry off with and 2 to wrap up with. He grew out of it by 11/12, but it was hard to watch. |
